Herd the Words Behind the Fence

The forgetful get their fill
Anniversary such a thrill
Remember not in fitful years
Follow once the cheese appears

Lincoln died within a Ford
One man of his own accord
Conspire several in old days
Investigation through the haze

Kennedy sat on a perch
Car began to slowly lurch
Triangulation isn’t hard
When the aimer is a guard

Enter exit we don’t know
Doctored drawings clearly show
Half heart attempt at autopsy
Forgot to check the brain you see

Not really sure if he is dead
He’s only missing half his head
Optimism optimized
What remains is then disguised

Meet the doctor at his home
He knows the truth when he’s alone
I burn all my notes you see
If they pertain to history

Standing on the shifting sand
These men make your brain their land
Open up your eyes to see
The truth sinks deep into the sea

Stand at the fence and gnaw the grass
Slowly watching people pass
In an hour chew your cud
Answers hidden in the mud

Out to pasture chew your food
Back to barn, routine subdued
Cherry trees in march will bud
Last thing you feel a painful thud
